Scour Incisively! There Might Be A Gem Right in Your Backyard!

Image
We often scour cricketers and Bollywood stars to look for a stable source of inspiration. Or else, we seek inspiration in unprivileged but unordinary people who have defied all odds to win their personal race. Sometimes, I feel how clandestinely strange it is that we often overlook figures who are such an integral part of our lives but are so unassumingly rooted and calm that they are no less inspiring. They, despite their apparent ordinariness, stand tall and unfazed even in situations where we tend to collapse into rubles of melancholy for an upsetting incident that has occurred in our lives. It can be enthralling to just be by the side of such people during their own lean phases, not for rendering them with a comforting arm but to simply witness the magnitude of their calmness and to make this beguiling discovery that they need no arm at all. At points where we may find it impossible to maintain a calm composure, they absorb their woes and disappointments into their s...

Rishikesh Rafting – A Soulful Trip Awaits you!

Image
I asked my colleagues about this rafting trip in Rishikesh, but everyone was busy on that weekend (unlucky for them). I didn’t want to wait. Actually, I don’t like to wait. When I need go, I go. But with whom? My wife was apprehensive about our 3 years old daughter, so I was pretty sure she would give a thumb down if I will ask her to accompany me. Then I called my brother and my wife’s nephew (both college-goers) It was first time with them, so I was unsure if it is good to go with guys almost half my age. But thank you guys, Pardeep and Chirag, you made it an uproarious affair. Even those 6 hours in general train coach, crammed with a mussy crowd, was fun classified. That haggle for every inch of seat, funny gossips with fellow passengers, and Pradeep’s arduous yet abortive effort to get a girl's phone number made the trip worth remembering.  We travelled to Rishikesh by train. We boarded Mussoorie Express from Old Delhi at 10:20PM, and reached Haridwa...

Mughal Garden Delhi: An Oasis in the Chaotic Capital

Image
“Hanging out in the Mughal Garden is one experience you’ll cherish lifelong.” Have you heard about Mughal Garden, Delhi? This is one place I would suggest every Delhiites to visit, at least once. I had heard a lot about this historic garden, but have not been lucky enough to be there. One of the reasons is - the garden opens only for one month, during February-March, every year. This time too, plan was made and left redundant. But my wife was pretty determined, and we finally gave it a go on this Valentine’s Day.  A ‘scenic paradise’ amid chaotic Central Delhi Mughal Garden is nestled in the Central Delhi, about 3-4kms from Patel Chowk Metro station. This is a scenic, serene paradise amidst Delhi’s most extravagant corner. Yes, it is highly unlikely to expect such a beauty in an area filled with government buildings and glitzy guesthouses of rich politicians and businessmen. The park is right next to the President House and has a unique aura of calmness and bliss...
